Nsoatreman FC, Tamale City FC Battles for Ghana Premier League Slot Today

At the end of the League season, Nsoatreman FC and Tamale City FC both had 71 points and even on head-to-head after winning their 1-0 at their respective home grounds.

Per the Division One League Regulations, winner of the play-off match will gain promotion to the Ghana Premier League.

The match will kick off at 3pm today, Tuesday June 21, 2022, and will be live on the Ghana Football Association Youtube Page.

Meanwhile, the GFA Disciplinary Committee has dismissed Unity FC’s protest against Nsoatreman FC in relation to the Matchday 30 game played at the Twumasi Sports Complex.

Unity FC protested against Nsoatreman FC for failing to submit its audited accounts for the 2020/21 league season before the start of the season.

The DC however found that Nsoatreman FC submitted its audited accounts on January 11, 2022. It was also found that Unity FC had not submitted its audited accounts for the previous season before the start of the 2021/22 league season.

The protest was also found to have been filed out of time.

However, the Chief Executive Officer of Nsoatreman FC, Kwame Baah has called for fair officiating in their Division One playoff game against Tamale City at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the game, Kwame Baah appealed to officials of the Ghana Football Association to ensure the game is free and fair.

“We are well prepared and pleading to get fair officiating in this game”, he said. Adding, “both clubs have incurred a lot of costs this season and we will appeal for a fair game to ensure only the best team qualifies”.

According to Kwame Baah, the team is very motivated to win the game. “We are more than motivated ahead of this game. In the history of the Division One League, we had 71 points this season”.

The winner of this game will join Samatex FC and Kotoku Royals in qualifying for the Ghana Premier League next season from Division One.

FIFA Referee Daniel Laryea has been named as Referee for Today’s Division One League Zone One Play-off match between Tamale City FC and Nsoatreman FC.

He will be assisted by Kwesi Brobbey and Ato Yawson with Maxwell Hanson as 4 Official, and Samuel Oduro Nyarko as the Match Commissioner.
